But Wait There's More (4 Night Series)
Every year we take a 40-day journey through the season of Lent. Our journey in this season begins with the ashes we receive on Ash Wednesday and ends with the Easter Triduum. With countless reminders of sacrifice, fasting, prayer, and desert imagery, we may have accepted this season as merely about giving up chocolate or momentarily surrendering our favorite indulgences. However, this season is a beautiful opportunity to remember how our sacrifices can lead us to something greater. But Wait…There’s More! is a Life Night series that helps the teens enter into Lent through various lenses, giving them new perspectives that will lead them to a deeper understanding of Lent and strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ during this liturgical season.

Zealous (Divine Mercy Sunday)
The goal of Zealous is for teens to be inspired by St. Paul’s witness of Christ’s love and moved to go out and proclaim the Good News

Spectrum (4 Night Series)
We end our Lenten Series of But Wait, There's More with 'Mary at The Cross' as a cliffhanger. The goal of “Spectrum” is for teens to be introduced to Marian Apparitions and come to understand how they can inspire their faith lives

For those teens who are not able to attend Sunday nights or those who are looking for more to do we highly recommend joining our D-Group Monday nights from 630-8:00pm. Here's an overview of what we will be going over.

The Catechism in a Year - The Search Series
For those who do not know, Ascension has created a podcast lead by Fr. Mike Schmitz to cover the Catechism in one year. We will have a series covering the first part of the Catechism (the prologue - paragraph 49) This is a 5 night series and hoping to inspire teens to continue to learn more about their faith through the Catechism.

The Forge - St JoseMaria Escriva
We will be covering a work created by St JoseMaria founder of Opus Dei (Work of God) titled the Forge. We will be reviewing the chapter "You Can" learning more how to better ourselves and to not discourage. This is a 4 Night Series

Preparation for 1st Reconciliation, Confirmation, and 1st Communion for High School

In the Diocese of Phoenix, Baptized children normally receive the Sacraments of 1st Reconciliation, Confirmation and 1st Communion in the 2nd and 3rd Grade,

There are circumstances where children may have not had the opportunity to go through sacrament preparation and the following are the programs we provide in alignment with the Restored Order that are outside of Elementary School.

This order differs from the order in most other dioceses where Confirmation is done separately several years after 1st Communion. For further explanation, please click on the following link: The Restored Order of Sacraments of Initiation - Diocese of Phoenix.

Accommodations can be made for those homeschooled that fit in the High School age range

The following are examples that would be considered for our 1-year Sacrament Preparation Program:

  • Baptized High School student needing 1st Reconciliation, 1St Communion, Confirmation
  • Baptized High School student needing 1st Communion, Confirmation
  • Baptized High School student needing Confirmation
    • All would attend our Monday Night classes

The following would be considered part of our 2-year Sacrament Preparation Program:

  • Non-Baptized - High School Student needing Baptism, 1st Reconciliation, 1st Communion, Confirmation
    • These students would meet Wednesday evenings

Students who are preparing for Sacraments must:

  • Be a registered parishioner at St. Mary Magdalene
  • Attend weekly Mass at St. Mary Magdalene
  • Attend GS24 High School youth group night for further formation
