Adult Sacramental Preparation: Confirmation, Communion, and Reconciliation
Q: I am already a baptized Christian but I am interested in becoming Catholic. How do I join the Catholic Church?
Q: I was baptized Catholic but I’ve never been Confirmed. What do I need to do to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation?
- Are you an adult who has not yet received the sacrament of Confirmation or First Holy Communion?
- Would you like to receive the graces of the sacraments?
- Did you know that to be a godparent for baptism, you are required to have received all of the sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, & Eucharist)?
Preparation to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church aims at leading the candidate toward a more intimate union with Jesus Christ, becoming more equipped to intentionally live as his disciples, and participating in his mission to “make disciples of all nations” (Mt. 28:19).
To this end, preparation will strive to awaken the candidate to a more lively sense of belonging to the Catholic Church and to the local community (e.g. St. Mary Magdalene). Preparation will NOT just be about learning what the Church teaches and why in a classroom, but will also include spending time with other Catholics in worship, prayer, fellowship, and service.
This is a year-round process that can begin anytime. Depending on where you are in your journey can determine how long the path is through this process. The first step is to set up an introductory meeting with Nicky to assess the right path for you. Please fill out the Inquiry Form and Nicky will contact you to set up a time to meet.
